I love Evernus, but I'm having trouble getting CREST up and running. Specifically what do I put for the Callback URL? |

I added evernus.com to the callback for my crest api application on the developer website, but market data is still way out of date, and when I update all, the CREST window pops up but after I login, claims it can't handle the callback url.
I'm a little unclear how CREST should work. Does CREST allow the Evernus client to pull all marketdata from the game, including market prices from other players in a station? |

Sorry... so I gather that Evernus has a built in CREST id and secret to pull data, and the custom one would only be if you're tying Evernus into your own custom application. I'm not trying to do that, just trying to pull accurate market data for the station I'm selling in. What's the best method for just getting market data, each time I open Evernus I "Import all" but the data on prices is still a month old. Should I be doing a cache or log import?
To clarify when I "Import all" I get the error message: "Evernus has been compiled without CREST support..." does that mean it can't get market data from the web? My preferences are set to import "Prices" from "Web" and "Market orders" from "API". Thanks! |

Pete Butcher wrote:Ok, seems like you have a version without the default CREST data. What system are you using? Windows and OSX versions are pre-built with the default data. You can use the --crest-id and --crest-secret command line parameters to pass your own app or build it yourself with the necessary constants defined. The callback URL should be http://evernus.com.
Yeah, I'm on Linux (Ubuntu 14.10 specifically). I create the cmake file with cmake -G "Unix Makefiles" according to the instructions and then compile. But would I have to make my own CREST id and secret, or is there a default one I can use?
I tried creating my own with the callback "evernus.com" and running evernus with my id and secret, but during the "import all" the CREST window popped up, I logged in, and then got an error that the callback didn't return the right result or something. I'm not trying to tie Evernus in with my own app, just trying to get the market data for my station. |

Pete Butcher wrote:Ok, so that explains why you don't have the default id compiled in. The link I gave above shows how to compile in custom crest data. Please check if the callback url is http://evernus.com with the http:// part.
That worked perfectly, thanks for your help! |
